EY is mobilizing employees from 26 countries in an internal fundraising campaign to support victims of the severe floods in Mozambique. The funds raised will be channeled directly to an international humanitarian organization working on the ground, providing emergency aid to affected communities.
In response to one of the most serious humanitarian crises of the year in Mozambique, EY is launching a solidarity campaign on a continental scale. The campaign, which covers the entire EY Western Europe region—encompassing European and African markets—aims to raise funds to help populations devastated by weeks of heavy rains.
In fact, the floods have already affected around 700,000 people, half of whom are children, causing forced displacement, loss of life, and serious damage to critical infrastructure. Faced with this scenario, entire communities now face increased health risks, food insecurity, and lack of access to drinking water.
It is precisely to address these urgent needs that the funds raised will be given to an international humanitarian organization on the ground. This organization plays a crucial role, providing vital assistance such as emergency shelter, safe water, healthcare, and essential goods, with a special focus on protecting the most vulnerable children.
On the other hand, this initiative goes beyond financial aid: it reinforces the spirit of unity within the EY network, demonstrating how collective action can amplify the impact in the face of a large-scale crisis.
Furthermore, it reflects the company's core values, based on social responsibility, empathy, and commitment to the communities where it operates.
In practice, "this campaign demonstrates the power of the EY network's unity," as highlighted by Bruno Dias, Office Managing Partner of EY Mozambique. "When we act together, we can amplify the impact of our actions and contribute concretely to addressing urgent humanitarian challenges."
In this way, EY reaffirms its commitment to Mozambique, believing that every contribution counts in saving lives, supporting recovery, and restoring hope at a particularly difficult time for thousands of families. Ultimately, it is a practical demonstration of solidarity that transcends geographical boundaries.
