Absa's Ready to Work program mobilizes over 14,000 young people and enters a new phase

Absa Bank Mozambique announces the results of the 9th edition of the Ready to Work program, one of the largest youth training initiatives in the country. In 2025, the program recorded significant growth in scale and impact.

In just four months of implementation, the program reached 14,153 enrolled young people, representing a 57% increase compared to the previous edition, and directly impacted approximately 10,000 young people.

This edition stood out for its new, more dynamic and engaging format, combining digital learning with in-person experiences through events held in Maputo, Nampula, and Pemba, which acted as catalysts for engagement and connection with young people.

Over the course of nine years, Ready to Work has already enrolled more than 45,000 young people, establishing itself as a leading platform for preparing them for the job market in Mozambique.

The 2025 results confirm not only the program's reach but also its real impact. The high levels of satisfaction and recommendation demonstrate concrete improvements in employability, skills development, and financial literacy—critical areas for the integration of young people into an increasingly competitive market.

The 2025 edition also incorporated a strong innovation component, with the involvement of influencers as ambassadors and speakers, reinforcing the program's connection and relevance to young people.

The strategic partnership with Vodacom was another key element, enabling the provision of concrete incentives, such as mobile data, to support young people in completing their courses and accessing course content.

For Absa, this program plays a central role in its social impact strategy. “We have continuously supported Ready to Work over the past nine years because we believe in the potential of young Mozambicans. We are proud to see the impact of this program grow year after year, and we are committed to continuing this journey with a new approach and even more relevant content by 2026,” says Hanifa Hassangy, Human Capital Director at Absa Bank Mozambique.

Based on this performance, Absa is already preparing the 2026 edition, a special milestone in which the program celebrates its 10th anniversary. This decade of impact reinforces the ambition to evolve Ready to Work into a new phase, with a renewed approach, new content, and an experience even more focused on generating an even more concrete impact among young people.
