The 4th edition of Elite Employer Gala, promoted by Tempus Global Group, distinguished, on Thursday, May 15, in Maputo, 36 leading organizations from the consumer, banking, energy and services sectors.
The event brought together more than a hundred guests, including business leaders, human resources executives, institutional partners and representatives of public, private and international entities, in a celebration of excellence in the valorization of human capital.
The award-winning entities were recognized for their exemplary people management practices. The top 10 included British American Tobacco Mozambique, Lda; Cervejas de Moçambique; Coca-Cola Sabco Mozambique; Galp Moçambique; HEINEKEN; Mozambique Leaf Tobacco, Lda; Moza Banco SA; Multichoice Moçambique, SA; Standard Bank, SA; and Vivo Energy Moçambique.
The organizations recognized were highlighted for their commitment to creating healthy, inclusive and motivating work environments. The evaluation was based on five fundamental pillars for the well-being and development of employees, namely: compensation and benefits, work environment, career progression, organizational culture and work-life balance.
“Elite Employer is a way of showing that companies that invest in human capital can develop and, at the same time, contribute to the development of the country. As a result, over these four years of initiative, several organizations have already asked themselves what more they can do to become model companies”,said Filipe Fabel, Managing Partner of Tempus Global Group.
One of the main new features of this edition was the introduction of an independent audit throughout the evaluation process, reinforcing the criteria of rigor and transparency. “This audit reinforced the credibility of the award. We wanted each recognition to be supported by real evidence and comparable with the best international practices”, added Filipe Fabel.
Elite Employer has been consolidating itself as a national reference in good talent management practices. More than an award, it is now an incentive for organizations to place people at the center of their growth strategies.
The 2025 edition was supported by Hollard and Global Edge Consultants, strategic partners of Tempus Global Group who share the same vision about the future of work in Mozambique.
“Global Edge values excellence and tonight we had the elite of employers here. They are truly the top of the top when it comes to caring for their employees, something that Global Edge deeply identifies with. So I believe that our values and the goals of this initiative are perfectly aligned,”said Luís Rendall, Country Manager of Global Edge Mozambique.
“It’s the people who inspire. The HR professionals who were present here and the commitment they demonstrated. Whenever we speak to any of the professionals, we see their dedication to deepening their knowledge of their organizations, identifying and enhancing internal talent and recognizing the real impact this has on their businesses. The people here are passionate, involved and truly committed.”highlighted, for her part, Lee-Ann Dobrescu, Chief Operating Officer of Hollard Health.
The distinctions awarded were based on the results of the National Survey of Benefits and Human Capital Management, carried out between August and November 2024. This is the largest study of its kind in Mozambique, with the participation of more than 250 organizations from the public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations and international cooperation agencies.
