Book “Youth and Social Transformation in Mozambique” launched at BCI

The book 'Youth and Social Transformation in Mozambique', authored by Luís Enoque, was launched on Tuesday, April 21st, at the BCI Auditorium in Maputo. The event brought together guests from various sectors and provided an opportunity for in-depth reflection on the role of youth in building the present and future of the country.

This is the debut book by this young author, who holds postgraduate degrees in Leadership, Social Intervention and Professional Conduct, as well as in Educational Organization and Management. The work aims to value youth as a transformative force in society, addressing themes related to activism, citizenship, social inclusion, and youth participation.

On that occasion, the BCI representative, Farhana Razak, Central Director of Risk Management, praised the relevance of the publication and congratulated the author on the initiative, highlighting the pertinence of the work's objectives, "namely to value the role of young people in society, a segment to which we dedicate special attention."

In his speech, he emphasized that "the globalized world in which we live today, marked by accelerated changes, continually challenges young people to find effective solutions to everyday problems."

The book was presented by Deolência Mulhovo, who described it as a true compass for young people, particularly social activists. While reviewing the ten chapters of the publication, she highlighted that it is "an attentive look at daily life, the streets, schools, families, in urban peripheries and digital spaces," focusing on the role of youth in building the present and future of the country, "not a distant reflection made of theory."

In turn, Luís Enoque thanked BCI for the support given to the initiative and stressed that the work stands as an instrument of mobilization and social awareness. "This is not a book of lamentations, but a tool for youth engagement," he stated.

In addressing activism as a transformative practice, the author shared concepts and pathways for young people to influence positive change in their communities, emphasizing that the work also constitutes an invitation to reflection and action. "The most important thing is awareness. We must ensure that young people are aware of their role," he stated.

By supporting this initiative, BCI reaffirms its commitment to supporting art, literature and culture, as well as promoting citizenship and inclusion, with particular attention to youth, a segment to which it recognizes a key role in social development and the transformation of the country.
