BCI brings joy to hospitalized children across the country

During the festive season, BCI mobilized across Mozambique to bring moments of joy and solidarity to the pediatric wards of public hospitals. The initiative, which took place between November 29th and December 13th, involved dozens of volunteer bank employees and extended to all provinces of the country.

More than just distributing food baskets and gifts, the initiative stood out for the sharing of time, empathy, and affection. BCI volunteers dedicated themselves to games and moments of closeness, seeking to offer relief and happy memories to the children undergoing treatment and their caregivers.

"What we want to offer is a moment of genuine joy," said Francisco Costa, Chairman of the Executive Committee of BCI. "The courage of these children inspires us. Our wish is that this gesture reminds everyone that the community is with them."

The visits began at the Xai-Xai Provincial Hospital and continued to health units throughout the country, including the Central Hospitals of Beira, Quelimane, Nampula, Lichinga, Pemba, Tete, and Inhambane, among others. In the city of Maputo, the solidarity actions took place at the Mavalane and Machava General Hospitals, the José Macamo Hospital, and the Provincial Hospital.

This initiative is part of BCI's Social Responsibility Program, reflecting a practice already well-established within the institution. The management and healthcare teams of the visited units expressed their gratitude for the gesture, highlighting the energy and human involvement that characterize the bank's actions year after year.

With this move, BCI reaffirms its commitment to social well-being, promoting corporate citizenship and bringing a little hope and joy to those who need it most.
