The Commercial and Investment Bank (BCI) and Maputo Central Hospital (HCM) renewed their institutional partnership this Monday (December 22nd) with the signing of a new protocol. The agreement aims to strengthen the hospital's response capacity in the health sector, focusing specifically on the treatment of Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding (UGIB), a clinical condition that requires rapid intervention.
During the signing ceremony, held at HCM, BCI immediately delivered a batch of elastic bandages, essential equipment for treating this medical emergency. The event was attended by the hospital's clinical team, professionals from other healthcare units, and bank employees.
Taking the floor, BCI's Marketing Director, Ana Zara Fateally, emphasized the purpose of the initiative: “BCI remains available to support initiatives with a real impact on people's lives. This partnership goes beyond financial support; we are directly strengthening HCM's operational capacity, contributing to the training of professionals and, ultimately, improving patient care conditions.”
For her part, the General Director of Gastroenterology Services at HCM, Liana Mondlane, praised the strategic value of continuing the collaboration: “The renewal of this partnership is fundamental to consolidating our efforts for the direct benefit of our patients and to supporting the demanding clinical work that our team carries out daily. This equipment is an important asset.”
It is worth recalling that this collaboration between BCI and HCM began in 2019. With its renewal and focus on specific emergency equipment, the bank reaffirms its long-standing commitment to public health and the well-being of communities, consolidating its role in promoting quality medical care in Mozambique.
