The Barracudas were the big winners of the "Manuel Tomé 200 Cup" Tournament, which ended last Sunday, November 2nd, at the Raimundo Franisse Swimming Pool. The event, which lasted two days, brought together swimmers from various clubs, including, in addition to the winning team, athletes from Golfinhos, Clube Marítimo, Tubarões and Endorfins.
Preparation and Competitive Mastery
With the main objective of preparing athletes for future competitions, the tournament included various events – freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, and breaststroke – distributed across several age groups, from pre-beginners to seniors. In fact, the event was clearly dominated by the Barracudas, who won most of the competitions.
Highlights of the Women's Competitions
The team's dominance began right from the pre-beginners category, with a podium entirely filled by Paloma Pereira (437 points), Laura Rodrigues (257) and Unaiti Magalhães (116).
However, in the beginners' category, the Dolphins managed to break the streak, with Kamilla Poeira (861 points) and Luna Morreia (777) securing the first two places, while Heaven Iliev of the Barracudas came in third.
Later, in the children's category, the rivalry intensified with a fierce competition between 15 swimmers. Kwicia Nchumali and Daniela Mansour, both from Barracudas, secured first and second place with 1255 and 1251 points, respectively, while Amanda Pene from Golfinhos came in third. The team maintained its good rhythm in the youth category, with Angela Chicumbe (1842 points) and Rihana Issufo (1303) leading, flanked by Estela Massingue from Tubarões (1401). Finally, in the junior category, Kayla Nchumali from Barracudas won with 1052 points, and in the senior category, Matilde Roff confirmed the team's dominance with 1505 points.
