9th Grade Chemistry Exam to be Repeated in Manjacaze and Limpopo Following Leak

The retake of the exam will take place this Wednesday for students from 14 affected schools.

The final 9th-grade Chemistry exam had to be retaken by students in the districts of Manjacaze and Limpopo, in Gaza province. The decision comes after an irregular application of the exam, the content of which had previously circulated on social media, leading to its annulment.

According to the provincial director of Education, Ferrão Bambo, the incident occurred due to a failure in the exam distribution process. Consequently, the problem affected 14 educational establishments. Bambo added that an investigation team has already been mobilized and that, if individual responsibilities are determined, "exemplary sanctions" will be applied.

This is not, however, an isolated situation. The National Association of Teachers (ANAPRO) has publicly expressed its concern about the repeated violations of exam confidentiality. From the association's perspective, represented by Carlos Muhai, greater rigor and control by the Ministry of Education is urgently needed. "Exams must be treated seriously. Situations like this harm the teaching-learning process and discredit the education system," he stated.

While awaiting the results of the internal investigation, the educational authorities decided to reapply the exam. Therefore, students from the schools involved were summoned to retake the Chemistry exam this Wednesday, in a measure intended to ensure fairness and transparency in the final assessment process.
