Zelensky wants pressure on Russia to respond to US proposal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last night (29.03) that Russia did not respond authoritatively to US initiatives to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine.

“The American proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table for too long without an adequate response from Russia,” Zelensky said in a speech tonight.

Moscow and Kiev reached an agreement in principle on a Black Sea truce following talks with US officials earlier this week, but Russia later warned that the truce would only come into effect once Western countries lifted certain sanctions.

Quoted by LUSA, US President Donald Trump has been consistent in a quick ceasefire despite his administration failing to make tangible progress even with talks on the table.

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree with the American-Ukrainian plan for a thirty (30) day ceasefire, but prefers thatZelensky was removed and would no longer be part of this process.
