Transcom launches its first Sustainability Report and adopts ESG as the cornerstone of growth until 2030

Transcom – a Training, Consulting and Auditing Company in Transport and Communications – presented its first Sustainability Report, covering the year 2025, publicly committing to the progressive adoption of international best practices in environmental, social and governance matters.

This document constitutes Transcom's first structured exercise in consolidated reporting as the founding entity of the Higher Institute of Transport and Communications (ISUTC) and the Institute of Transport and Communications (ITC), establishing a benchmark for monitoring the organization's progress in terms of sustainability, transparency, and non-financial reporting.

More than just an accountability tool, the report marks a new stage in integrating sustainability into the institutional strategy of Transcom and its educational institutions, aligning academic growth, territorial expansion, governance modernization, and responsible resource management with international sustainability benchmarks.

The report is aligned with the Transcom Strategic Plan 2026-2030, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the guiding principles of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the guidelines of the IFC Performance Standards, in proportion to the nature of the organization's operations in the education sector.

“Transcom presents its first Sustainability Report at a particularly relevant moment in its institutional trajectory. After more than 25 years of activity, the organization enters a new cycle of consolidation and expansion, guided by the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan.”, says Luís Almeida, Managing Director of Transcom.

Among the main commitments undertaken is the progressive implementation of an Environmental and Social Management System, between 2026 and 2030, with the objective of strengthening the identification, assessment and mitigation of environmental and social risks associated with the activities of Transcom, ISUTC and ITC.

The publication of the report also comes at a time when ISUTC is reinforcing its strategic commitment to sustainability, including its entry into the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, one of the leading international platforms for assessing sustainability in higher education institutions.

By 2025, Transcom and the institutions under its supervision recorded progress in areas such as academic inclusion, gender equality, social responsibility, scientific production, resource efficiency, process digitization, and strengthening institutional governance.

The report identifies Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, Climate Action and Partnerships for the Goals as priority Sustainable Development Goals.

In the social sphere, Transcom highlights its investment in scholarships and social incentives (2.4 million meticais), the promotion of female participation in technical and scientific fields, including through the SheLeads program, and the development of community and social responsibility initiatives.

In the environmental dimension, the report acknowledges that there is a growing responsibility in the efficient management of resources, the progressive reduction of paper consumption, the digitization of processes, and raising awareness within the academic community about sustainable practices.

With this first Sustainability Report, Transcom commits to consolidating its ESG reporting annually, strengthening transparency towards students, employees, investors, regulators and partners, and creating sustainable value for Mozambican society.
