Thierry Henry has a strong connection with football fans in Mozambique

Betway, a leading online sports betting and gaming company in Mozambique, proudly announces the signing of world football icon Thierry Henry as its new Global Ambassador. According to the gaming platform, this partnership reinforces Betway's commitment to bringing excitement and the best of football to its fans throughout Africa, including Mozambique.

Now a football coach and global star, Thierry Henry is a legend who thrilled Mozambican and international fans with his goalscoring prowess, dribbling ability, and vision throughout his career, which began with Monaco in his native France and then joined Premier League club Arsenal in 1999, following a brief stint with Juventus in Italy's Serie A. He became a legend for the Gunners, breaking Ian Wright's all-time goalscoring record for the club. His time in North London was also rewarded with two English Premier League titles—one of which he won as an 'Invincible'—and three FA Cups.

World Cup winner in 1998 with France, Thierry Henry is considered one of the greatest forwards in the history of football, and his physical and technical characteristics were fundamental to his success on the field, before retiring from the pitch and taking on the role of football coach.

After ending his playing career, Henry became a football coach and commentator, remaining a highly respected and admired figure among fans and supporters around the world.

"Thierry Henry is a true football legend. We are thrilled to have him as our ambassador and partner. Our goal is to further connect sports enthusiasts in Mozambique with the thrill of the game, especially as the national leagues and the 2026 World Cup approach," said Neal Menashe, CEO of Super Group, which owns Betway.

In turn, Henry, when announcing the partnership, said, "Football is about action, emotion, and connection. And that's exactly what Betway offers its fans. I'm happy to be part of a brand that brings football closer to people, wherever they are, especially in Mozambique."
