The Tchumene 2 neighborhood in the municipality of Matola is experiencing moments of tension and fear, especially among women, following a series of mysterious male deaths. In less than a week, eight men, all residents of the same area, lost their lives from causes still unclear, a fact that is sparking speculation and widespread concern in the community.
According to reports from residents, the phenomenon has manifested itself in strange and frightening ways. "Men here arrive feeling well and, after a short time, they lose their way: they turn to alcohol, become unemployed, ill, or even die," laments a local woman. The neighborhood leader confirmed the climate of apprehension, stating that even she fears for the safety of her husband and children.
Residents point to occurrences considered supernatural, such as strange noises, unexplained nighttime visitors, and even cases of children showing signs of premature maturity. "There's something wrong in this neighborhood. We need help. We want traditional healers to come and see what's happening," pleaded another visibly distressed resident.
Despite the widespread panic, there is still no official statement from health authorities or the police regarding the causes of the deaths. Meanwhile, the public's calls are growing for a serious investigation that provides concrete explanations or, at the very least, measures to restore a sense of security in the neighborhood. Fear, mixed with misinformation and beliefs, is leaving Tchumene 2 in a constant state of alarm.
