Seven Finance Ministry employees detained in a police van

Seven employees of the Ministry of Finance were detained today inside a police van during an operation by a multi-sectoral team led by the Attorney General's Office (PGR). The operation took place at the headquarters building on Julius Nyerere Avenue, where the group has intensified its inspection activities since last year.

According to information gathered, those detained are employees of that ministry and were apprehended as part of investigations that the Attorney General's Office has been conducting since last year. The multi-sectoral team, which also involves agents from other security and inspection forces, had already carried out other arrests of officials from the Ministry of Finance in recent months.

Authorities have not yet released details about the charges against the seven officials, but sources close to the case indicate that the arrests are part of a series of investigations related to alleged administrative and financial irregularities.
