Mozambican businessman Salimo Abdula, in his capacity as Ambassador of FACIM 2026, recently invited African and European entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the 61st edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM - 2026).
The invitation was extended during the Africa Forward Inspire & Connect business forum, held on May 11 and 12, 2026, in Kenya, as part of the "Africa Forward: Partnerships between Africa and France for Innovation and Growth" summit, jointly organized by Kenya and France.
The Africa Forward Inspire & Connect forum brought together more than 2,000 African and European business leaders, investors, and policymakers, including entrepreneurs associated with the Choose Africa initiative, Kenyan businesspeople, and members of the French business delegation accompanying the French President. Mozambique was represented at the international summit by its President, Daniel Francisco Chapo.
On that occasion, Salimo Abdula highlighted the growing transformation of FACIM into a strategic platform for business, investment and regional economic integration, advocating a new vision for what is the largest multi-sectoral event in Mozambique.
“FACIM is evolving, and we must evolve with it. We are moving away from a traditional exhibition fair model to establish ourselves as a true business platform. FACIM must increasingly become a space for decision-making. A space where negotiations take place, where agreements are closed, where strategic partnerships are built, and where concrete investment opportunities are created.”he pointed it out.
Organized by the Ministry of Economy, through APIEX, FACIM 2026 will focus on the internationalization of the Mozambican economy, the promotion of exports, the strengthening of regional integration within the context of SADC and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), as well as stimulating public and private investment and promoting innovation.
For the businessman, the fair represents a unique opportunity for national and international companies to establish business connections, identify strategic partners, and explore the economic potential of Mozambique and the region.
By mobilizing African and European entrepreneurs to participate in FACIM 2026, the fair's ambassador reinforces the ambition to transform the event into a continental benchmark for business networking, investment promotion, and the building of sustainable economic partnerships.
FACIM 2026 will take place from August 31 to September 6, 2026, at the Ricatla International Fair and Exhibition Centre, in the municipality of Marracuene, Maputo province.
