Rodrigo Almeida scores important points in a challenging weekend in Jarama

Mozambican driver Rodrigo Almeida finished fourth in the Jarama Classic, a Supercars Endurance event, scoring important championship points in a weekend marked by particularly demanding conditions.

Held at the Jarama Circuit in Spain, the race lasted one hour, with the duo Rodrigo Almeida and Francisco Mora sharing driving duties in the Toyota Caetano Portugal by Sports&You. This time, Francisco Mora started the race and Rodrigo Almeida took over the second stint, driving the car to the finish.

The weekend marked Rodrigo Almeida's first experience with the Spanish circuit, a technical and demanding track. The very high temperatures also hampered the team's work, with the asphalt reaching 54 degrees Celsius, making it more difficult to find the ideal setup for the Toyota.

“It was quite a challenging weekend for us. It was my first time on this track, which is quite technical, and the conditions didn't make it any easier, with very high temperatures throughout the weekend. Despite the difficulties, the pair managed to draw positive conclusions from their time in Jarama and finish the race in fourth place, securing important points for the championship standings.

With the Jarama stage behind him, Rodrigo Almeida is now focusing his attention on the next round, in Vila Real, scheduled for July 10th, 11th and 12th, a special event as it will be held in Portugal and in front of a crowd close to the team.

“Now the focus is entirely on Vila Real. It will be a home race, in front of our fans, and we are very motivated to arrive there even stronger.”He concluded.
