Maputo, October 12, 2026 – Driver Rodrigo Almeida finished the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2026 season in third place overall, after the final weekend of competition (October 10 and 11) in Singapore. Competing with the Phantom Global Racing team, this result allowed him to finish the championship on the podium.
After battling for the top positions in Saturday's race, Rodrigo Almeida started third in Sunday's race, with a pace that allowed him to challenge for the podium. However, the outcome did not match what the driver and the team had hoped for.
“I leave this weekend with mixed feelings, but above all proud of everything we achieved throughout the season. I always gave my best, fought until the end and also sought to contribute to the team's objectives,” said Rodrigo Almeida.
The driver also highlighted the contribution of the team, sponsors, and partners to the result achieved. “A huge thank you to the entire team for all the work, dedication, and support throughout this season. And, of course, to my sponsors and official partners, who make all this possible. This result is also yours.”
Despite a challenging finish in Singapore, Rodrigo Almeida gives a positive assessment of his participation in the Carrera Cup Asia. “It wasn’t the ending we envisioned, but finishing the championship in the top 3 overall is a source of pride. Now it’s about learning, continuing to work, and coming back even stronger.”
With his participation in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2026 concluded, Rodrigo Almeida is now preparing for the next round of the Supercars Endurance series, which will take place from November 6th to 8th in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The driver arrives at this stage leading the championship.
