
Maputo, May 12, 2016Mozambican driver Rodrigo Almeida completed another competitive weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, held at the Fuji circuit in Japan, where he once again demonstrated consistency and adaptability on a track where he competed for the first time.
In the fifth round of the championship, Rodrigo Almeida started from third on the grid and finished the race in fourth place. In the sixth round, he started fifth and again crossed the finish line in fourth position, scoring important points for the overall standings.
Despite not achieving the desired result, the Mozambican driver considered the weekend positive, highlighting the solidity of his performance and the importance of the points earned for the championship fight.
“It was another weekend of hard work in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, on a track that was new to me. It wasn't a perfect result, but it was a solid and important weekend for the championship. We remain in second place overall.”"That's what the young pilot said."
With the results obtained in Fuji, Rodrigo Almeida maintains second place in the overall standings, continuing his fight for the title in one of the most demanding one-make competitions in Asian motorsport.
The focus is now on the next stage, in Thailand, where he hopes to fight for the top spots again and keep alive his ambition to win the championship.
