Families resettled in Hulene "B" in Maputo city denounce abandonment by authorities, months after being displaced by the floods. Residents claim to have actively participated in election campaigns in exchange for promises of support that, to date, have not been fulfilled. They now live in precarious conditions, without adequate food, clean water, or medical care.
According to reports, they have not received food aid for more than five months, and many children and the elderly face serious health problems. "We did everything they asked of us during the campaign, but now we feel like we've been used and discarded," they lament. The resettled people demand that the promises made by the authorities be honored and that urgent measures be taken to ensure decent conditions for the affected families.
