RECOGNIZE PALESTINE

NIn the last days of September, more than 10 countries recognized the STATE OF PALESTINE (namely Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Malta and San Marino), increasing to 157 (out of 193) the number of UN Member States that recognize it, approaching those that recognize Israel (165). There are now majorities that recognize the Palestinian State among the five Permanent Members of the Security Council (rising from 2 to 4), the 27 of the EU (from 12 to 17), the 32 of NATO (from 14 to 20) and the G20 (from 10 to 13). The Israeli Government and the barbarity that continues against Palestinian civilians and its refusal of a Palestinian State are responsible, but the fact that 19 of the recognitions of Palestine have occurred since the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, favors Hamas propaganda in its "armed struggle to sell Israel." With a view to a "Two-State" solution, it would be better to truly sanction Israel and condition recognition of Palestine on Hamas's surrender (including the handover of hostages and weapons) and the reform of the Palestinian Authority. Simply symbolically recognizing what doesn't exist doesn't make it exist—let's face it.

Finally, the recognition of the State of Palestine. But when will Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be condemned by the Hague Tribunal for Crimes Against the Humanity of the Palestinian People?
