Púnguè University graduates awarded by BCI

The fourth graduation ceremony for students from Púnguè University was recently held in Chimoio, Manica province. The event, which took place at the headquarters of this prestigious higher education institution, was attended by the Secretary of State for the Province, Fernando de Sousa, among other personalities.

At the ceremony, 194 students graduated, including those from the Bachelor’s Degrees in Human Resources Management, Social and Organizational Psychology, and Business Management. During the celebration, Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI) awarded the best graduates from each of these courses, as a way of recognizing the effort and dedication demonstrated throughout their academic training. In the context of its social responsibility, BCI has stood out not only for its institutional support to the country’s universities, but also for the creation of innovative solutions that aim to respond to the needs of its different audiences, including students, teachers and administrative staff. The integrated offering of solutions is one example of the institution’s commitment to the development of higher education in Mozambique.

In his speech, the Secretary of State for the Province of Manica, Fernando de Sousa, appealed to graduates to use the knowledge acquired throughout their training as a powerful tool to transform mentalities and promote sustainable development.

In turn, the Rector of Púnguè University, Emília Nhalevilo, highlighted the importance of graduates maintaining integrity and acting responsibly, pointing to higher education as a foundation for building a more just society.

Púnguè University, which emerged in 2019 after the separation of the Manica and Tete branches of the Pedagogical University, has the mission of training senior technicians with high quality standards, with the aim of contributing creatively to the sustainable economic and sociocultural development of Mozambique.
