Private Security Closes Doors of Provincial Agriculture Directorate in Zambézia

Private security guards today closed the doors of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries (MAAP) in Zambézia, in a protest against the non-payment of salaries. According to a source, only the finance department remains operational, with the aim of processing the salaries that are four months overdue.

This scenario is considered atypical for state institutions, even though it follows a similar protest that occurred last week at the Xai-Xai Provincial Hospital in Gaza. The situation reflects the growing pressure on the timely payment of salaries in the public sector.

The security company's actions have temporarily suspended public services and administrative activities at the MAAP provincial headquarters while awaiting the regularization of salaries for the contracted team.
