Pope João Leão XIV encouraged young people not to fall into conformity

At the final Mass of the Jubilee, Pope John Leo XIV encouraged more than a million young people gathered on the Tor Vergata esplanade outside Rome to “aspire to great things” and not conformism or materialism.

Quoted by the Observer at the scene, he said, "Aspire to great things, to holiness, wherever you are. Do not settle for less. Thus you will see the light of the Gospel grow each day, within yourselves and around you," Pope João Leão  XIV said during the Mass that concluded the Jubilee of Youth.

More than a million young people who attended Mass this Sunday, coming from all over the world to celebrate the Holy Year, the Pope also said “The fullness of our existence does not depend on what we accumulate or what we possess (…) it is linked to what we know how to welcome and share with joy.

Tor Vergata has something in common that unites Pope João Paulo II, who half a century ago celebrated a historic youth day. The new Pope also thanked everyone for joining this jubilee event.
