NEXUM Conference promotes dialogue on innovation.youth financing and leadership

The Mozambican Association of Youth for Gender Equality (AMJIGE) will hold the NEXUM Conference - Innovation and Youth Leadership, on October 1st and 2nd, at the Natural History Museum in Maputo. This conference will be a platform for dialogue, learning, and building solutions to the challenges faced by Mozambican and African youth.

Under the motto "There is talent, there are ideas and there is will. So, where is the money?", the NEXUM Conference - Innovation and Youth Leadership will bring together young people, leaders, experts, representatives of public institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations and cooperation partners to discuss topics related to innovation, employability, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, environment, governance and development.

Over the two days, the program will feature plenary sessions, debates, and inspirational moments, including the Young Innovator Award, workshops, demonstrations, parallel sessions, the NEXUM Investment Cafe, the Talent Market, the Future Professions Fair, and the Artificial Intelligence Corner.

"Whether you're a young entrepreneur, artist, farmer, economist, academic, creator, engineer, doctor, drone or airplane pilot, mobile wallet agent, motorcycle taxi driver, or street vendor, there's a place waiting for you. Welcome to NEXUM." says Francisca Noronha, Executive Director of AMJIGE.

One of the highlights will be the Young Innovator Award, aimed at young people aged 18 to 35 with technological solutions to national challenges in the areas of employment, housing and transport. The 10 selected competitors will present their proposals to a jury during the first day of the conference.

The program also includes discussions on financing economic independence and job creation for young people, youth participation in economic and political decisions, and the impact of extractivism on development, with particular emphasis on the case of Cabo Delgado.

The NEXUM Conference - Innovation and Youth Leadership concludes with an awards gala, which will recognize the winners of the Young Innovator Award and include the presentation of certificates and self-employment kits to young beneficiaries of training programs.
