The owner of NBC, a well-known auto parts company, was kidnapped Monday morning in front of his business establishment in downtown Maputo. The crime occurred in broad daylight, around 9:00 a.m., and was witnessed by several people nearby.

According to witnesses at the scene, the kidnapping was carried out by four unidentified individuals traveling in an unregistered vehicle. The criminals reportedly approached the victim quickly and violently, forcing him into the vehicle, which then immediately sped off in an unknown direction. Some bystanders tried to fight back, but the suspects displayed weapons and intimidated those present.

The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) confirmed the incident and assured that they are following leads to locate the perpetrators and rescue the victim. "We are working based on information gathered on the ground and are counting on the assistance of video surveillance cameras in the area," said a PRM spokesperson, adding that "there will be a response soon."
