The national football team, Mambas, defeated their counterparts from Uganda 3-1 in the fifth round of Group G of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Our team opened the scoring after 3 minutes through Pepo. Uganda, in turn, made up for the deficit and equalized after 4 minutes, that is, in the 7th minute.
Mozambique came back and Pepo scored twice, once again giving the national team a 2-1 lead. Before half-time, Stanley Ratifo scored the third goal that sealed the match.
In the second half, the Mambas knew how to deal with the result of the game, managing to control the contest and not conceding any more goals.
With the victory, Mozambique takes the lead with 12 points. In the next round, the national team faces Algeria.
