
The Mozambican under-17 national football team began its participation in the African Nations Championship for that category, which is taking place in Morocco, with a 3-0 defeat against Tanzania.
In the match played this Thursday, May 14th, at the Mohammed VI Complex, the "Mambinhas" created some opportunities, but showed defensive fragility and were ultimately overcome by a more organized and effective Tanzania. Dismas opened the scoring in the 25th minute after a VAR review, and shortly after, a defensive error by Pascoal resulted in the second opposing goal. In the second half, Mbegelendi sealed the victory with the third goal, confirming Tanzania's superiority.
With this result, Mozambique occupies last place in Group C, which is led by Tanzania with three points. Angola and Mali follow with one point each, after a goalless draw in the other match of the opening round.
