After the three-week stoppage of the Moçambola due to logistical problems with Mozambique Airlines (LAM) in transporting the teams competing in the country's main football competition, the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) has scheduled the second leg matches of the quarter-finals of the Mozambique Cup, the country's second biggest football competition, for this weekend.
The Mozambican Football League (LMF) needs 100 million meticais to guarantee the payment of air tickets for national club delegations so they can travel without any problems.
As a result, the FMF has scheduled the highly anticipated match between Maxaquene and the Black Bulls for this Saturday, July 26th, at Costa do Sol Field. In the first leg, played at Lalgy Arena, the Black Bulls defeated the Tricolor 1-0.
The remaining matches are scheduled for Sunday. Ferroviário de Maputo faces Incomáti de Xinavane in the city of Xai-Xai at the Marien Nguabi field. The capital's locomotives head into this match with an advantage, having defeated the sugar producers 2-1 in the first leg.
The central region will see a duel that will surely pack the Soalpo Field. The city of Chimoio will come to a standstill to watch the clash between Textáfrica de Chimoio and União Desportiva do Songo. In the first game, the hydroelectric team defeated the plateau's factories 3-0 at home. In the northern region, Desportivos de Pemba and Nacala will battle it out to emerge victorious. The two teams drew 2-2 in the first leg at the Pemba Field. The decisive duel will be played at Campo do Ferroviário in the port city of Nacala.
The dice have been cast for the games in which only one team must win to determine the teams that advance to the semi-finals.
