
The National Women's Senior Basketball Team will fight for a place in the semi-finals on Thursday afternoon, July 31st, against Mali in the quarter-final match of Afrobasket 2025, the biggest continental basketball championship.
Nasir Salé's team debuted with a 72-55 victory over Rwanda, then lost 55-60 to Nigeria in a match considered a test of fire, in which the Indian Ocean Warriors lost the game in the final moments. After the defeat to Nigeria, they defeated Guinea Conakry 91-38, sealing their qualification for the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Mozambique will give everything in this match to reach the penultimate stage of the championship and fight for gold. In the last edition of Afrobasket, the team finished fifth.
