Metrobus strike affects routes to Matola Gare and Boane due to unpaid wages

Metrobus workers went on strike this afternoon, halting trips to Matola Gare and Boane, in protest against delayed salary payments, according to a statement released in the company's WhatsApp group.

Metrobus has been facing a general strike by its workers since this afternoon, affecting routes to Matola Gare and Boane. According to a source close to the movement, the strike is due to delays in salary payments, which led employees to halt operations.

The warning was released via a brief statement in the WhatsApp group that regulates the service for users. Consequently, passengers who depend on transportation for these routes are facing difficulties getting around.

The company has not yet officially commented on the causes of the delay or on possible negotiations. Meanwhile, the situation remains uncertain, with no forecast for the normalization of service. The strike reflects an escalation of tensions between management and workers, who are demanding the fulfillment of their labor rights.

Furthermore, users report a lack of in-person information at the terminals, increasing the confusion. The expectation is that Metrobus will resolve the impasse quickly, as the service is essential for mobility in the affected areas.

To date, there is no official confirmation as to when salaries will be paid or whether there will be immediate negotiations to end the strike. Passengers are advised to seek alternative transportation until further notice.
