“All Things Visible – Anthology of Women in Prose” is the title of a book of short stories written by 14 Mozambican writers, published by CATALOGUS, with the support of the Spanish Embassy in Mozambique, and will be launched on Thursday, April 10, at 5:30 pm, at the Mozambican-German Cultural Center, in Maputo. In each of the 14 short stories that make up this collection, it is possible to feel the unique voice of the characters, the sensitivity and the strength of the authors, who, through words, leave an indelible mark on Mozambican literature. The authors do not limit themselves to telling stories, they reveal, with skill and courage, the resilience, the struggle and the power of writing to paint a portrait of society, the existential dramas and the afflictions of everyday life. By bringing together writers, most of whom have not yet published a book, CATALOGUS aims to contribute to women being able to occupy the cultural space, constituted with the best of their talent. The word then becomes the guiding thread that transforms the ideal, the chaotic, the rough and the soft into a tangible and immortal reality. Each page of “All Things Visible” resonates as a manifesto, a declaration of resistance, and a celebration of the women who, with their narratives, build a new and vibrant world. The book is a complement to the creative writing workshop “Women’s Turn”, held by CATALOGUS, in conjunction with the Spanish Embassy, and supervised by editor and writer Teresa Noronha, writer Lucílio Manjate and poet Álvaro Taruma, in September 2024. The authors of the stories that make up “All Visible Things” are Anastácia Sigodo, Anchura Mires, Carina Mulieca, Deizy Joane, Edna Tuaira Aníbal, Edna Matavel, Felismina Guetsa, Jade Ferreira, Julieta Panguene, Happy Taimo, Fernanda da Lena Hermano, Iraneta Campos, Natércia Chicane and Sonisa Bavá. The work will be presented by writer and professor of literature at Eduardo Mondlane University, Lucílio Manjate, in an evening that will also include a conversation with the authors, mediated by actress and presenter Anabela Adrianopoulos. We would like to invite the press to be part of this launch and presentation of the book.
