Health authorities are tracing 57 contacts and questioning failures in surveillance at points of entry.
Kenyan authorities have placed ten people in quarantine and begun tracing another 57 who had contact with a man who died in Nairobi in a case linked to the Ebola virus, according to the BBC.
The Kenyan citizen, who resided in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for 11 years, arrived in Kenya last weekend from Uganda. The case is raising serious concerns about possible failures in health surveillance mechanisms, as the man was not identified during health checks carried out in the DRC, Uganda, or upon arrival at Nairobi airport.
Kenyan authorities have not yet released further details about the health status of those in quarantine, nor about the progress of contact tracing.
