Maputo, March 2026 - KARMOL Mozambique, a company dedicated to electricity production through its NEZIH BEY floating platform anchored in Nacala Bay, joined forces with the 1st of May Nursery School in Maputo to carry out a social responsibility action, consisting of the donation of food, hygiene products, school and office supplies. The initiative, which directly benefits 60 children, is part of the Ramadan celebrations and reinforces the company's ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and promoting social well-being, with a special focus on childhood, recognizing the fundamental role of children in building a more inclusive and sustainable future for the country. During the event, KARMOL Representative Cumhur Aksoy highlighted that the gesture constitutes recognition of the crucial role played by the institution in Mozambican society. "The donation of food, hygiene products and school supplies that we delivered aims to support this institution in its noble mission of caring for and educating children," he stated. “We hope that this contribution can help create better conditions for the learning, growth and well-being of all,” she added. The donation also aims to contribute to improving the learning, nutrition and hygiene conditions of children, essential factors for their healthy growth. On the occasion, the representative of the Municipality of Maputo for the Department of Women, Assistance and Family, Hélio Balói, thanked the initiative, highlighting its social impact. “We thank KARMOL for this very noble initiative. It is always encouraging to know that there are organizations driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, which seek to support the people who need it most. Our appeal is that they continue with this type of action, assisting children and other vulnerable groups whenever possible.” In turn, the Director of the 1st of May Nursery, Valvitcha Sezi, expressed her appreciation for the support provided, underlining the importance of the gesture at a difficult time for the center. “This center welcomes abandoned, lost, or vulnerable children, including cases where parents are in conflict with the law. We function as a transitional center for children aged 0 to 12, until their family reintegration or referral to other solutions,” she explained. She acknowledged that “we face several difficulties and, therefore, this support comes at a crucial moment. For example, we were out of milk, despite having more than 10 babies under our care. This donation will also allow us to improve our administrative processes with your offer of computers,” she concluded, thanking them for the donation. KARMOL Mozambique thus reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility, reinforcing its role not only as an energy producer, but also as an active partner in the development of the communities where it operates. The action follows a recent initiative by the company, carried out in early March, in support of families affected by the floods in the Marracuene district, Maputo province, reiterating a consistent and supportive approach to the social challenges affecting the country.
