ITC reinforces its role in technical education in Mozambique

Maputo — The Institute of Transport and Communications (ITC) welcomed more than 700 new students for the 2026 academic year, in an event that marked the official opening of the academic year and highlighted the growing demand for technical and vocational education in the country.

The ceremony, held during a General Assembly of the institution, was led by the Director-General of ITC, Augusto Mbazo, and guided by the motto "Education, Research and Culture: Fundamental Vectors for Sustainable Development". On the occasion, the management reinforced the school's commitment to excellence in training qualified professionals, aligned with the demands of the job market and the country's development goals.

"ITC remains committed to training competent professionals prepared to meet the demands of the job market and the country's development priorities," said Augusto Mbazo during his speech.

The ceremony was also attended by the District Director of Education and Culture, Tércia Machava, and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Simões Marrengula, who represented the Commander of the 18th Police Station. In their speeches, both highlighted the importance of the partnership between educational institutions, local authorities, and the community for strengthening the education system and technical-professional training in Mozambique.

Beyond the official ceremony, the ITC management promoted an open dialogue with parents/guardians. The objective was to strengthen ties with the school community and ensure transparent and participatory communication throughout the students' educational journey.

With the arrival of this new class, ITC begins another cycle of academic growth and reaffirms its position as a leading institution in technical and vocational education in the country, actively contributing to the preparation of professionals capable of facing the challenges of Mozambique's economic and social development.
