Inauguration of the new agency in Tete Chingodzi

The Commercial and Investment Bank (BCI) inaugurated, this Monday, July 27th, the new facilities of the BCI Tete Chingodzi Agency, in a ceremony presided over by the Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Viola. The event was attended by the President of the Executive Committee (PCE) of BCI, José Furtado, the Secretary of State in Tete Province, the Director of the Bank of Mozambique Branch in Tete, members of the Provincial Government, businesspeople, clients, bank employees, and representatives of civil society.

Originally opened in September 2011, the Agency now operates in a more modern, spacious and functional space, designed to provide greater comfort, efficiency and quality of service, keeping pace with the evolving needs of customers and the economic growth of the province.

On the occasion, the Chairman of the Executive Committee (PCE) of BCI, José Furtado, highlighted that this reopening is part of the ongoing process of modernizing the Bank's commercial network, reaffirming the institution's commitment to financial inclusion, proximity, and the economic development of the country. "This moment marks a step forward in strengthening access to banking and financial services for the population and the local business community. This reopening demonstrates the Bank's commitment to financial inclusion and the economic development of the province, bringing financial solutions closer to all those who wish to realize their projects and aspirations."

The CEO of BCI further emphasized that the investment represents much more than the opening of a new physical space, constituting a clear sign of BCI's confidence in the economic potential and entrepreneurial capacity of its citizens. "Today we reaffirm our connection with Tete, a strategic province for Mozambique's economic growth, which is increasingly establishing itself as an important hub for investment, production, and regional integration," he said.

José Furtado added that trust continues to be the institution's main asset, built daily through the quality of service provided, proximity to clients, and actions guided by integrity, responsibility, and innovation: "We want this branch to be a gateway to new opportunities. We want the citizens and businesses of Tete to find in BCI a partner to realize their projects, through savings, investment, and financing solutions that transform ideas into businesses and initiatives into progress."

In turn, the Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Viola, praised the investment made by BCI, considering it an unequivocal demonstration of confidence in the province's potential and its population. "Today represents more than the opening of a physical space. It demonstrates the confidence of a major bank in the potential of our wonderful population and our beautiful and welcoming province of Tete," he stressed.

The Governor also emphasized that the main objective is to ensure that every citizen, entrepreneur, and company finds answers to their financial needs, reinforcing the role of banking in the economic and social development of the province. "We want this branch to be an open door to financial inclusion, to business growth, and ultimately, to the development of our province," he stressed, challenging the Bank to continue expanding access to financial services, combining the modernization of the physical network with increasingly accessible digital solutions.

The reopening of the BCI Tete Chingodzi branch is part of BCI's strategy to modernize its commercial network and reaffirms the Institution's commitment to continue investing in proximity, innovation, and expanding access to financial services, contributing to strengthening financial inclusion, business activity, and the sustainable development of Tete Province and Mozambique.
