Licungo University (UniLicungo) recently held its graduation ceremony for its Agriculture, Business Administration, Law, and Sociology programs. The occasion encouraged recent graduates to develop their acquired skills and contribute to Mozambique's socioeconomic growth, while always maintaining ethics, innovation, and resilience in their actions.
Invited to deliver his speech as godfather of the graduates, businessman Salimo Abdula, Patron of the Salimo Abdula Foundation (FSA), challenged the students to be true agents of change.
"Here are young students, and I see in each of their faces the vigor and desire to contribute to development. With the tools you acquired throughout your academic education, you are the agents of a generation of change. The challenges are enormous, but the willpower and skills imparted by your teachers are the driving force behind you fighting for and achieving your dreams."
The businessman urged graduates to embrace opportunities with courage and determination and to never lose their desire to continually learn. Salimo Abdula believes students should put their acquired knowledge to work for their communities.
On this occasion, the Salimo Abdula Foundation recognized the academic merit of the graduates by awarding the best students in the Agriculture, Business Administration, Law, and Sociology programs. With this initiative, the Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting education, supporting young talent, and contributing to the development of leaders committed to the country's development.
Vodacom M-Pesa, for its part, reinforced its mission of building bridges between academic knowledge and the professional market. The company offered the top student in the Business Management program a 12-month paid internship, allowing her to apply her knowledge and develop practical skills. Vodacom M-Pesa also provided mobile phones to the students who performed most well throughout their studies.
The Licungo University Board congratulated the new generation of graduates and thanked the Salimo Abdula Foundation and Vodacom M-Pesa for all the support given to the students.
