Yesterday afternoon, DECIDE presented the Certificate of Honorable Mention to the Mozambican Bar Association (OAM), in a ceremony that highlighted the institution's remarkable work. The President of the Bar Association, Dr. Carlos Martins, represented the OAM, whose efforts were recognized for their unwavering defense of human rights, courage, and moral fortitude demonstrated in promoting justice and human dignity.
On that occasion, the Director of DECIDE emphasized the importance of recognizing our heroes, especially after turbulent times in which recognition was often limited to social media. This distinction, therefore, aims to publicly value the institutional commitment to democratic values.
In parallel, Dr. Ferosa Chauque was also honored for her decisive role in the national mobilization of people's advocates during the post-election period, a crucial action in defense of citizens' rights and freedoms.
The certificate presentation ceremony took place as part of the Seminar on Gender-Based Violence, an initiative promoted by the Human Rights Commission of the Mozambican Bar Association, symbolically linking the different fronts of action in the fight for fundamental rights.
