Death by Caesarean section at the Chokwé Rural Hospital

A young woman lost her life after a cesarean section at Chokwé Rural Hospital in Gaza province. The case, which is causing consternation and outrage in the local community, raises serious suspicions of medical negligence and poor healthcare delivery.

According to the family, the young woman was admitted to the health unit with visible signs of complications on September 25th, presenting bleeding from the mouth and signs of extreme distress. However, the surgery was not performed until the following day, September 26th, allegedly after an unjustified delay. The family claims that the C-section was performed by professionals in training, without proper supervision, which contributed to the tragic outcome.

The pain of loss worsened when, during the newborn's first bath, a cut was detected on the back of the baby's neck. Family members suspect the injury occurred during the surgical procedure, reinforcing allegations of medical misconduct.

Given this situation, the deceased's relatives demand a thorough investigation by the competent authorities. They also ask that the case not be treated as another statistic, and that those responsible be brought to justice. The family requests psychological and institutional support, both to cope with the loss and to ensure the well-being of the now motherless child.

The management of the Chokwé Rural Hospital has not officially commented on the case. The Ministry of Health has not yet confirmed whether an investigation will be opened. Meanwhile, the local population is concerned about the state of the healthcare system, demanding greater oversight and accountability for professionals involved in medical procedures.
