New space in Sommerschield offers offices, meeting rooms and a conference room for over 100 people, open to initiatives from entrepreneurs and artists.
On Tuesday, October 13th, CoWork Lab inaugurated a new Business Center in Sommerschield, bringing the number of spaces in its network in Maputo to seven. The opening coincides with the company's 14th anniversary in Mozambique and reinforces its offering of work solutions for entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, and independent professionals.
Located at Rua 1307, No. 150, the new center offers private offices, meeting rooms, a conference room with capacity for over 100 people, work and social areas, as well as virtual office services. The offer includes reception, internet, cleaning, 24-hour security, water, electricity, and a copy center.
The inauguration brought together around 180 guests, including businesspeople, clients, partners, and institutional representatives. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Mahomed Mussá, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TMCEL, and Pedro Ferreira, General Director of CoWork Lab, followed by a tour of the facilities.
“Fourteen years ago, we opened a small space with a simple idea: to give entrepreneurs a place to start. Today, seeing around 180 people gathered in this new center shows how much that idea has grown with our clients and partners,” said Pedro Ferreira.
In addition to business activities, the center aims to host community initiatives, reserving dates and spaces for the presentation of works by entrepreneurs and artists. This connection to artistic creation begins with the photographic exhibition *'Kintsugi: Where the cracks become light'*, by Patrícia Costa, presented during the inauguration.
According to Pedro Ferreira, "this new center presents itself as a space to work, create and collaborate." "We want it to be a starting point for new businesses and a showcase for Mozambican talent. Here, every connection counts," he emphasized.
The new Business Center occupies a building that housed a training institute between 1991 and 2018. The original inauguration plaque has been preserved as a tribute to the history of the space.
