The Matola Industrial Company (CIM) rejects the legality of the indefinite suspension announced by the Mozambique Cereals Institute (ICM). Quoted by the newspaper Noticias, the company argues that the allegedly applicable legal regime establishes specific requirements for the suspension of activities and stipulates that any sanction must be preceded by a hearing of the alleged offender, as well as the opportunity for them to exercise their right to defense.
According to CIM, it was not notified of any transgression proceedings that could justify the suspension, which is why it is contesting the measure.
