Children deny killing their father and attribute his death to witchcraft

Three sons are being held in Mbizene, in the Limpopo district, Gaza province, suspected of beating their own father, a 74-year-old man, to death, accused by the community of witchcraft and of having relationships with his daughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughters.

 Despite the accusations, the detainees deny involvement in the murder and claim the death was caused by traditional healing practices, which their father allegedly practiced. The case is being investigated by the Mozambican Police and has sparked intense outrage in the local community.
