Following the heavy rains that have affected the entire southern region of the country, the Executive Directorate of Mozambique Railways (CFM) - South was forced to take an exceptional safety measure.
Starting this Monday, January 19, 2026, all lines under its management are closed to passenger train traffic. This decision aims, above all, to guarantee the safety of passengers and users while work is underway to repair and consolidate the infrastructure affected by the storms.
The ban will remain in place until further notice. The company emphasizes that it is making every effort to normalize traffic as quickly as possible, with the aim of resuming a safe, efficient and high-quality service.
While awaiting further communication that will mark the resumption of operations, CFM Sul asks for the understanding of its customers and reinforces its commitment to everyone's safety.
