From April 2nd, cash payments on board the railcars serving Matola Gare, Boane, and Marracuene will no longer be accepted. From that date, tickets will only be purchased using transport cards.
As part of the ongoing process of modernizing and improving passenger rail transport services, users of the railcars at Matola Gare, Boane, Marracuene, and the general public should be aware of the new measure that will come into effect next month.
The change aims to make the service faster and safer by gradually eliminating the use of cash on board. With this measure, passengers will need to purchase and register their cards in advance, thus guaranteeing regular access to transportation.
Transport cards are now available for purchase and registration at the Maputo Central, Machava, Matola Gare, Boane and Marracuene stations. Users are advised to complete the procedure as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience when using the service.
