Body hidden by family causes panic in community in Mikadjuine

In the city of Maputo, an unusual and disturbing situation caused shock among residents of the Mikadjuine neighborhood. A man, around 40 years old, lost his life last Friday (25), but his body remained inside his home for three days, without any official communication to the authorities or neighbors.

According to local reports, during this period, family members continued their daily routines, without giving any indication of what had happened. They ate, slept, and performed household chores, completely ignoring the presence of the body inside the residence, which caused surprise and concern among neighbors.

The deceased's aunt, visibly outraged and in shock, shared her discomfort with the press: 

"They called me yesterday to inform me that my nephew had passed away on Friday. When I got home, his body was still there. I don't understand how anyone can live like this. This isn't normal. I don't know what's happening." The woman was later prevented from making further statements to reporters by other family members.

The Mikadjuine community did not hide their shock and condemned the family's actions. 

"It's scary. Knowing they were sleeping, cooking, living normally with a dead person in their home... it's terrifying. We've never seen anything like it," said a visibly distraught resident.

Authorities were called to the scene to deal with the situation, but so far no official information has been released about the circumstances of the death or the reason why the body was not immediately reported to the appropriate authorities.

The case raises serious concerns about public health, family behavior, and psychological support during bereavement. Investigations are expected to determine any potential responsibilities or signs of negligence on the part of the family members.
