Celebrations begin on November 6th with a launch gala at LIV, and will culminate in a grand show on December 5th at Casa dos Bicos, bringing together pioneers of the genre and artists from different generations.
The city of Beira, in Sofala province, will be the starting point for the 20th anniversary celebrations of Pandza, a Mozambican musical genre that has gained prominence in the national urban culture. The initiative foresees the holding of large-scale shows in different parts of the country, with the aim of promoting local music and content, highlighting the genre's history and its connections with other expressions of Mozambican music.
The celebrations are scheduled to begin on November 6, 2026, with a launch gala at LIV, in Beira, starting at 6 PM. The event will feature DJ Ardiles, Ziqo, Denny OG, and Mr Kuka, artists associated with the founding and establishment of Pandza.
The program will continue on December 5th with a grand show at Casa dos Bicos, also in Beira, starting at 6 PM, bringing together dozens of national artists. Among the announced names are Ziqo, Denny OG, DJ Ardiles, Mr Kuka, Dama do Bling, Matilde Conjo, Stewart Sukuma, Doppaz, MC Roger, Liloca, Sslowli, TrezAgah, Calisto Ferreira, Manunes Jackson, Dito Filipe, Hernâni da Silva, Djimetta, Hot Blaze, Hélio Beatz, and Badjero. The lineup also includes DJ Damost, DJ Junior, DJ Faya, Lexo, DJ Cabeça, DJ Riise, and DJ Kooler. The event will be hosted by Beant The MC, Emerson Miranda, PZ, and Sérgio Faife.
The initiative is produced by the four artists identified as the founders of Pandza — DJ Ardiles, Ziqo, Denny OG, and Mr Kuka — in partnership with Silvio Kintas, an event producer based in the city of Beira.
More than just marking two decades of existence, the festivities aim to highlight the evolution of Pandza and its ability to keep pace with the transformations of the Mozambican music industry. Originating in Mozambique, the genre has established itself as a unique reference point in national popular music, winning over audiences of different generations and creating space for new artists and producers.
With the entry of new artists such as Hélio Beatz, Badjero, Hot Blaze, Djimetta, and others, Pandza has been expanding its sonic richness, incorporating instruments, new production approaches, and musical elements that renew its identity without breaking with the roots that marked its emergence. This evolution has contributed to a more diverse and contemporary sound, demonstrating the genre's ability to reinvent itself and engage with other musical languages.
It is in this context that the organization intends to take the celebrations to various regions of the country, promoting shows that value Mozambican artists and locally produced content. The initiative thus seeks to highlight not only the protagonists of the first generation of Pandza, but also the new performers, producers and creators who continue to develop the genre.
The choice of Beira as the launch location for the festivities gives the city a prominent role in this national celebration, which seeks to recognize Pandza's contribution to Mozambican musical identity and stimulate the circulation of national artistic production.
By bringing together different generations of musicians, the celebration of Pandza's 20th anniversary presents itself as an opportunity to revisit the history of the genre, recognize its pioneers, and follow the new sounds that continue to transform one of the most significant references in popular music made in Mozambique.
