BCI invests in Mozambican talent with music training scholarships in Portugal

The Commercial and Investment Bank (BCI) is supporting young Mozambican talents to attend the Professional Music Course at the Professional School of Arts of Beira Interior (EPABI) in Portugal. This initiative guarantees not only academic training, but also essential conditions for their development, such as the provision of daily meals and the improvement of their well-being during their studies.

The bank's support is materialized through its commitment to education and social inclusion, being channeled into the activities of Kulungwana – Association for Cultural Development.

Present throughout the country, Kulungwana's main objective is to stimulate artistic and cultural creation, especially among young people. To this end, it provides opportunities for innovation, learning, and dissemination, as well as promoting the empowerment of artists and their organizations. Annually, the association holds more than 30 events and public presentations and reaches approximately 850 young people in training programs in the visual and performing arts.

This partnership falls under the Education, Food and Well-being pillar of BCI's Social Responsibility strategy. In this way, the bank reaffirms its purpose of promoting growth opportunities, developing talent and fostering social inclusion, using music and education as drivers of transformation.
