BCI distinguished the best finalists of the Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Auditing; Accounting and Taxation; and Master's Degree in Auditing, at the 11th Graduation Ceremony of the Higher Institute of Accounting and Auditing of Mozambique (ISCAM), held on Friday, April 25, in the city of Maputo.
Each student received a monetary award in recognition of their academic performance. ISCAM, a public higher education institution, is dedicated to training professionals in the areas of accounting, auditing, taxation and related disciplines.
In an institutional message, the Chairman of the BCI Executive Committee, Francisco Costa, reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment as a strategic partner in higher education, stressing that this initiative represents an incentive for excellence, dedication and the training of professionals who will contribute to the economic and social development of Mozambique. “With this gesture, BCI reinforces its mission of supporting causes that promote knowledge, competence and the positive transformation of Mozambican society”, stresses Francisco Costa.
At this event, which took place under the motto “Training Professionals with Excellence for Global Challenges”, ISCAM launched 180 students who graduated from Bachelor’s and Master’s courses into the professional market. The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of State for the City of Maputo, Vicente Joaquim, who emphasized in his speech the importance of human capital for the country’s progress. “We believe that the economic growth we all desire can be accelerated with trained people. We are betting on these recent graduates, who, with the skills they have acquired, will directly benefit the communities. The training we want must be of high technical and scientific quality, and the graduates must demonstrate responsibility, dedication, care and respect for the community, in order to improve the quality of service to society”.
The graduates, in turn, reaffirmed their commitment to serve their country and expressed their deep gratitude to ISCAM, particularly to the teaching staff, as well as to their parents and guardians. “We want our contribution to be of capital importance in the lives of all citizens, because, after all, we are a proud Mozambican product,” they said, leaving a message of hope and the promise to use their talent and determination to build a promising future.
