BCI awards academic excellence at Rovuma University

Bank recognizes top students at graduation ceremony that produced over 200 new professionals.

BCI was present at the 5th Graduation Ceremony of Rovuma University (UniRovuma), reinforcing its commitment to higher education and young talent in Mozambique. The event, which took place in Nampula, graduated more than 200 new professionals in the areas of Bachelor's and Master's degrees, involving delegations from Lichinga, Montepuez, Nacala and Nampula.

In the presence of members of the Provincial Government, institution leaders, students, partners, and distinguished guests, the bank awarded an Academic Excellence Award. This initiative aims to publicly recognize the merit, commitment, and dedication of students who have excelled throughout their academic journey.

UniRovuma, a multi-field public university resulting from the 2019 higher education reform, considers the ceremony a milestone of great importance. For the institution, the moment is significant not only for the graduates and their families, but also for the country, which gains new qualified professionals. In this sense, the University also recognized the best students of 2025 with academic awards, thus promoting a greater connection between academia, the institutional sector, and the business sector.

Representing BCI, Helga Nunes, Regional Commercial Director, reaffirmed the bank's role as a strategic partner in higher education. "This initiative encourages academic excellence, dedication, and the training of professionals capable of driving the economic and social development of Mozambique," she emphasized. She added: "By rewarding merit, BCI reaffirms its mission to support causes that promote knowledge, strengthen skills, and contribute to the positive transformation of Mozambican society."
