The Commercial and Investment Bank (BCI) and the Mozambique-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CCMI) renewed, on Friday, October 9th, in Maputo, the Partnership Protocol that reinforces the commitment of both institutions to promoting investment, boosting business relations and the economic development of Mozambique.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of BCI, José Furtado, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CCMI, Simone Santi, in a ceremony attended by the Italian Ambassador to Mozambique, Gabriele Annis, members of the BCI Executive Committee, directors and representatives of both institutions, among other guests.
The renewal continues a cooperation that has contributed to bringing the financial sector closer to the Mozambican and Italian business communities, creating conditions for strengthening trade relations and identifying new investment opportunities.
In his speech, José Furtado highlighted the strategic significance of the renewal, emphasizing that the partnership represents more than an institutional commitment: it constitutes a platform to bring companies closer together, mobilize investment, and transform opportunities into concrete projects.
The Chairman of the Executive Committee framed the initiative within the celebrations of BCI's 30th anniversary, marking three decades of activity serving families, entrepreneurs and businesses, in a journey characterized by proximity, solidity and trust.
For José Furtado, trust is the Bank's greatest asset and a key element in building lasting relationships. In this context, he reaffirmed BCI's ambition to continue playing an active role in financing the economy, placing its financial capacity, market knowledge and banking solutions at the service of investment and business growth.
The official also highlighted the potential for cooperation in strategic sectors, namely energy, natural resources, oil and gas, tourism, infrastructure, agriculture, industry and services, advocating for greater integration of Mozambican companies into national and international value chains.
In turn, Simone Santi, President of the Board of Directors of CCMI, praised the support provided by BCI throughout the partnership, highlighting its importance in strengthening economic and business relations between Mozambique and Italy.
Simone Santi reaffirmed the Chamber's commitment to continuing this cooperation, assuring that the CCMI will continue to work hand in hand with BCI and the business community, particularly Italian companies, in identifying and promoting new business and investment opportunities.
The Protocol includes the holding of business forums, business missions, bilateral meetings and networking initiatives, as well as bringing BCI closer to CCMI's member companies, including those operating in strategic sectors of the Mozambican economy.
This renewal reinforces a relationship based on trust, institutional complementarity, and the combination of efforts to stimulate investment, strengthen the business sector, and contribute to a future of greater growth and prosperity for Mozambique.
