Azgo Festival brings Mozambican culture to the forefront with Visa For Music

The Azgo Festival made a prominent appearance at the 12th edition of Visa For Music, one of the most important global stages for music from Africa and the Middle East. The event, which took place from November 19th to 22nd in Rabat, Morocco, once again established itself as a strategic hub for artistic exchange and the strengthening of creative industries in the region.

Mozambican participation was secured by Azgo in partnership with XHUB – Incubator of Cultural and Creative Businesses. In a significant recognition of its work, Azgo was distinguished as the festival's Cultural Ambassador, a title that reinforces its fundamental role in promoting and internationalizing Mozambican culture.

The festival's opening was enlivened by a vibrant spectacle of light and rhythm, with performances by artists from Guinea, Ivory Coast, and Morocco, who captivated the audience with energetic and culturally diverse performances.

From the stage to business: the Mozambican delegation included Júlia Novela, General Director of the Azgo Festival and Executive Director of XHUB. Her active participation in the professional programming was a crucial step in expanding networks, building strategic partnerships and, above all, opening new opportunities for Mozambican artists and cultural agents. In this way, the country's presence contributed to consolidating Mozambique's image as a growing creative hub with strong potential for cultural export.

Beyond the concerts, Visa For Music also established itself as a leading professional trade fair, integrating exhibitions, showcases, networking sessions, forums, and debates. Around forty artists, selected by a specialized jury, performed in showcase format for programmers and an international audience, thus promoting new opportunities for artistic exchange and cooperation.

With a program that ranged from traditional music and jazz to rap, trap, and electronic music, this year's edition reinforced the aesthetic and sonic diversity that characterizes this cultural event.

It is important to highlight that participation in Visa For Music 2025 represented a strategic opportunity for Mozambique to strengthen its presence on the global music scene, increase the visibility of its projects, and continue to showcase the richness and authenticity of its artistic identity beyond its borders.
