Avelina Nhanzimo takes office in Xai-Xai and promises transparent management and zero tolerance for corruption

Avelina Nhanzimo was sworn in as the new administrator of the Xai-Xai district in Gaza province, succeeding the previous leader who was recently dismissed. The ceremony was marked by a firm stance from the authorities, highlighting the fight against corruption, nepotism, and other practices that harm the public interest. The Secretary of State in Gaza province, Jaime Neto, stressed that there will be zero tolerance for acts that compromise the integrity of public administration, advocating for management based on legality, transparency, and accountability.

Among the challenges identified for the district are combating drug trafficking and consumption, as well as strengthening coordination between different sectors of the State. In her speech, Avelina Nhanzimo expressed openness to participatory governance close to the communities, promising to act responsibly and focus on concrete results to improve the living conditions of the population.
